As I prepare to grow my business from one location in a gas station to what I hope will become a nationally recognized company, it is imperative that I focus on getting ready to scale.
After a years of getting screwed by Lamb Weston, I fired them this past Friday.
Well…the reality is they fired themselves, but they’re not really good at accepting blame.
Will they miss my 40 cases a week? Probably not…will they miss 40 cases x the number of stores I plan to open…probably not…but their shareholders won’t be happy.
They say the people who work for a company are a reflection of their leadership.
Lamb Weston is proof.
I’ve never encountered a more unethical, dishonest and flat-out lazier sales organization in my life.
From the Tom Werner all the way down.
The rhetoric spewed by Tom Werner in his most recent earnings call as well as his recent statements regarding the layoffs and plant closure are perfect examples of why no one at Lamb Weston can be trusted.
As my prices doubled over the past three years, I warned the sales team that covered my area that their unethical practices were unsustainable and would eventually come back to bite them.
Unfortunately, in addition to screwing millions of consumers, it came back to bite the 400 people who just got laid off.
Now, I won’t get a response from anyone at Lamb Weston.
Spoiler alert…I don’t need to the reply from Tom, because I already know the answers.
COVID, supply chain, inflation…
It’s the restaurant’s fault for raising prices, not LW’s fault for raising theirs.
It’s McDonald’s fault because for trying to make food more affordable by pushing people to eating a smaller version of fries.
I won’t even get into their software conversion debacle which cost me money and time.
Basically, it’s EVERYONE ELSE’s fault…not his.
Tom Werner understands inflation, supply and demand and price elasticity better than most.
His superpower isn’t his grasp of the economic buzz words.
HIs superpower is getting those who work for him as well as the useful idiots pretending to be journalists (hi Jonathan) to regurgitate phrases they themselves don’t understand nor care to research as a way to deflect Lamb Weston’s greedy tactics and poor decisions.
I’m not going to take a deep dive into why Lamb Weston is full of crap within the contents of this message.
However, I am more than happy to debate Tom Werner or any other LW representative publicly…including in front of congress.
By the way, if you’re one of the 400 people who were terminated, think about the fact that LW stock went up after you were fired. Think about the fact that had your CEO not been so greedy and high on bilking the public, you might still have a job.
Now, if you’re one of the 3000+ remaining employees…get your resume ready because if Tom Werner thinks he can squeeze more out of the stock so he can save his own job, he’ll throw you to the wolves in a heartbeat.
A note to the Lamb Weston shareholders…let me know when you clear house…from Tom ALL the way down… and I’ll reconsider using your product.
Until then, your competitors will be the beneficiaries.
As for Tom…don’t feel too bad for him…the golden parachute the others didn’t get is coming soon.
Sincerely,
Billy Kramer

PS…The people that I reached out to at/connected to Lamb Weston prior to writing this letter without response is interesting…Sharon Miller, President, a Regional VP, an area something or other and even a LW consultant attempted to have someone contact me and was unsuccessful.
